Located on the levee of the North Portland Harbor channel, Bridgeton is the smallest of all Portland neighborhoods, with a population of around 358 as of 2014 and an area of 0.251 square miles. Bridgeton occupies a narrow strip between Bridgeton Slough and the Columbia River, East of Kenton.
The neighborhood was once a booming fishing and farming community. Today, it continues to offer unique livability due to its row houses, several floating home moorages, upscale apartment complexes, high and low rise condominiums, and detached houses in the north and northeast sections.
Major freeway ramps run along the neighborhood and offer quick access to I-5 freeway and other areas around Portland. This marine location offers a lively small-town feel where neighbors know each other by name. The neighborhood is also fifteen minutes away from Portland International Airport.
