Following the bluffs along Willamette Boulevard, homeowners along the western boundaries of the Overlook neighborhood have some of the best views in the city. I-5 provides the borders to the east with Ainsworth to the north. Russell Street is the southern most boundary of the Overlook neighborhood.
Overlook has multiple development types and the neighborhood’s three square miles is home to 7,781 residents.
This neighborhood is also home to the industrial area, Swan Island. Commercially, this area is still underdeveloped, but there are 2 small commercial zones, one along Interstate and the other in the Killingsworth and Greeley area.
Close proximity to the yellow line, I-5 and designated bike lanes make this neighborhood great for commuters trying to get downtown or to virtually anywhere in Portland.
The Overlook neighborhood is well known for it’s outdoor space. Locals flock to sit along the bluffs on Willamette Boulevard to watch sunsets over the city. Overlook Park offers softball fields, soccer fields, and volleyball courts for those looking for physical activity. Or just take advantage of one of the picnic areas with family and friends.
There are some greats spots for going out at night in the Overlook neighborhood. The iconic Alibi Restaurant and Lounge is a retro tikki bar on Interstate Boulevard that fills up at night with karaoke lovers from all over town. Just a little farther up Interstate, experience shared plate dining at Miho Izakaya. New hip bars and restaurants are popping up along Killingworth, offering great food and cocktails.
