Portsmouth is located in Portland’s Northern Peninsula, tucked between the Columbia and Willamette rivers. The neighborhood is minutes away from the University of Portland, less than six miles from downtown Portland, and six miles from Vancouver, WA.
This is a diverse and still-developing neighborhood featuring young renters to old home owners and families. There are several choices for groceries stores and markets including New Seasons, Fred Meyer, and Grocery Outlet.
There are also a few bike shops, coffee shops and friendly watering holes within the Portsmouth neighborhood.

Portsmouth Attractions
There are three beautiful parks within the Portsmouth neighborhood, most notably Columbia Park. Columbia Park was acquired in 1891 and covers over 35 acres of land. The park includes a baseball field, several picnic areas, a playground, accessible restroom, horseshoe pit, soccer field, tennis and volleyball courts, and paved walking/running paths. Within Columbia Park is the Historical Columbia Cottage built in 1940. In 1989 it was saved by its neighboring residents from being torn down and replaced by a parking lot.
Also, within the Portsmouth neighborhood is a great variety of quality restaurants such as The Drunken Noodle, East Side Delicatessen,! Cha! Cha! Cha, The Fishwife, and the Falafel House.
Favorite bars within the neighborhood include Darcy’s, Sundown Pub, Twilight Room, and The Chill and Fill.
