Parkrose Heights is situated between I-84 to the North, 122nd Avenue to the East, Halsey Blvd to the South and 102nd Avenue to the West. It is nearby the Parkrose, Argay, Madison South, and Hazelwood neighborhoods. The population was 6,304 as of 2016.
Like the Parkrose neighborhood, one of the prime benefits of the Parkrose Heights neighborhood is its proximity to the Portland International Airport. This provides convenience for travelers, and the ensuring flow of traffic resulting from the airport location included the developing and building of main thoroughfares, which are within close proximity to the neighborhood.
The Parkrose Heights neighborhood is a family-friendly area and the much of the area is devoted to residential zones, with the exception of the commercial area surrounding the airport. There are 2,500 homes and a strong sense of community.
Of the surrounding neighborhoods, the Parkrose Heights area has decidedly more of a suburban feel, which residents have attributed to the presence of the airport.

Surrounding the Portland International Airport is a sizeable outdoor commercial area, with a Target, Home Goods, and a number of chain restaurants, shops, and hotels. One of the first IKEA stores in the state is located in this shopping area and draws many visitors each day.
