As of 2016, the population was 1,357. It is one of the smaller neighborhoods in southeast Portland.

Recent work in the park has reconstructed the original creek bed, restored the natural floodplain, and re-established native plants. The Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood Association is working to continue restoring and revitalizing the park.
In terms of dining, the neighborhood offers some unique spots. PDX Sliders serves delicious burgers, while “Shut Up and Eat” is memorable for both its food and its name. Ardenwald-Johnson Creek is also near Hawthorne, an area known for its Portland-centric dining and shopping options.
